A Message from the Principal
- The first essential component to a student’s success involves “Being Present to Learn” every day. Students who perform well in school have great attendance. They come to school almost every day and arrive on time. Please keep in mind that every moment in school matters.
- Active participation and student engagement also play an important role in your child’s academic success. Students who perform well in the classroom are actively engaged. Please encourage your children to be Leaders in their Own Learning and to be active participants in the classroom. Check in with your child daily and communicate regularly with your child’s classroom teacher to ensure that he or she is up to date with assignments and is meeting grade specific expectations for each class.
- The third essential ingredient to success is perseverance. The ability and willingness to take on a challenging task and keep trying without giving up is so important. We want to encourage all of our students to do their very best, even when things are challenging. Having the ability to persevere is how they will accomplish great things! Our most successful students continue to work hard when things are challenging. We hope you will encourage and inspire this at home.
Throughout this month, we will continue to engage students in lessons to celebrate influential figures and significant historical moments and/or events in honor of Black History Month. We continue to celebrate our students, their culture, and their contributions to our 71 school community!
As always, your continuous support and partnership in your child’s education are appreciated.
With love & gratitude,
Mrs. Mirando
